On-screen display below appears during play on VHS.
To see these displays, set "Status Messages" to "Automatic". (l 76)

Audio indicators
The Left (Mono L) and Right (Mono R) indicators show
which sound mode is selected as follows:
Stereo:
Mono L:
Mono R:

Operation status display

Shows the tape counter and remaining tape time
Pressing [STATUS] once makes the on-screen display
appear. After that, press the button repeatedly to change
the display as follows:
No display > Tape counter > Remaining tape time

≥Press [¢, RESET] to reset the tape counter (elapsed
time) to "0:00.00". The tape counter is automatically reset
to "0:00.00" when inserting a video cassette.
≥The remaining time is approximate. It will be incorrect if
you set the wrong tape time in "Select Tape Length" in the
"VHS" menu and if the tape is of poor quality. (l 77)

Cassette-in indicator
Shows whether you have inserted a video cassette.

playback tape or the input signal.
