5 - send and receive text messages
You can also send text messages to a list
of contacts that you have created so that
you don't need to manually add contacts
every time.
To create a distribution list:
1 Press Menu and select Messages then
Text messages.
2 Scroll to and select Distribution lists.
If you do not have any lists set up, you
will see (empty).
3 Press Add. Add list will be highlighted
press Select.
4 Give your distribution list a name and
press OK.
5 Your new list is highlighted press Options
and select View list. You will see
Distribution list empty.
6 Press Add to open the list of contacts
saved on your phone's memory. Scroll
through your contacts lists selecting
contacts to add to this distribution list.
7 Press Done when you are finished.
You can save up to seven distribution lists,
each containing up to twenty people.
How do I know whether a text message
has been delivered?
When you send a message, put the letters
RCT at the front of the first word without
leaving a space. When the message is
delivered, a confirmation message will be
returned to you
To send messages to your distribution
list:
1 When you have finished writing your text
message press Options.
2 Scroll to Sending options and press Select.
3 Select Send to list.
4 Scroll to the list you wish to send the
message to and press Select
Note: The cost to send a text message
depends on your Service Plan and you are
charged for each person the message is
sent to.

brighten up your text
message with a picture
You can send and receive text picture
messages from your phone to other
compatible phones which use text
picture messaging.
1 From the main display press .
2 Write any text you would like in the
message and then press Options.
Scroll through the options and select
Insert picture.
3 Press View to look at the pictures and
press Insert to add one to your text
message.
4 Now you can write your message as
normal and send it in the usual way as
the picture is attached to the message.
Note: The cost of sending a text picture
message is the same as three standard
text messages. If you've upgraded to a
Multi Media Messaging phone you should
insert your new SIM Card.

messages
You are not limited to a total of 160
characters for your text messages. If your
text message exceeds 160 characters it
will be broken up and sent as a series of
linked messages. You will, however, be
charged your standard talk plan rate for
each text message that is sent.
use text templates
Your Nokia 6100 comes preset with 10 text
and 10 text picture messages which are
saved as text message templates.
To use a template:
1 From the main display press .
2 Press Options and scroll to and select
Use Template. Scroll to the template that
you would like to use and press Select.
3 You can edit the template as you would
a normal text message.
