Use of your vehicle data

This is a brief summary of how Yamaha (Yamaha Motor Co.Ltd., and Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A.) uses your vehicle

What vehicle data we collect? and How we collect your vehicle data?
This vehicle collects three types of vehicle data through integrated Engine Control Units (ECU).:
(1) Vehicle Identification Number (VIN); (2) live data showing the performance of the vehicle such as engine/motor operating
state, vehicle speed, mileage; and (3) other data showing the status of the vehicle such as diagnostic trouble code (DTC).
The collected data will be uploaded to server at Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. by attaching a special Yamaha diagnostic tool to
the vehicle, only when maintenance checks or service procedures are performed.
How will we use your vehicle data?
Yamaha use collected data from your vehicle, (1) to conduct adequate maintenance service including diagnostics, (2) to
implement proper warranty claim judgement, (3) to conduct research and development of vehicle, (4) to provide and im-
prove quality of products, features, and services, (5) to ensure our business purpose, and (6) to comply with requirements
of laws and regulations.
How we disclose your vehicle data?
We may make your vehicle data available with: (i) our subsidiaries, affiliates, and business partners; (ii) dealers in your coun- 10
try or region, and (iii) contractors within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use described above.
How long will we retain your vehicle data?
We will retain your vehicle data for the shortest period of time possible/the time necessary to achieve the above listed pur-
poses.
