Theunitentersaprepurgeperiodof30-secondswiththecombustionairbloweron. 3. Thedirectsparkignitorwillbeenergisedandignitethegasatoneendoftheburner. 4. Theburnerwillcross-lightandtheflamesensorwilldetectthepresenceoftheflameattheopposingendofthe burner.Thedirectsparkignitorwillbede-energisedaftertheflameisrecognised. 5. Thecombustionairblowerwillstartapproximately30-secondsaftertheflameisestablished. 6. Theunitwillremaininoperationuntilthepresettemperatureonthethermostatisreached. 7. Oncethethermostathasbeensatisfied,thegasvalvewillclose,andthecombustionairblowerwillturnoffafter approximately90-secondstocooltheheatexchanger. 8. Turnoffelectricalpowersupplytotheunit,ensuringthecombustionairblowerhasturnedoffpriortodoingso. 1.9. Power Failure Shouldthepowerfailureoccurwhiletheunitisinoperation,thegascontrolwillautomaticallyswitchoffthemain burners.Noheatingwillbeavailableuntilpowerisrestored.Onrestorationofpower,theunitwillautomatically restartshouldthethermostatcallforheat. Maintenance TheKirbyAir™Compacthasbeendesignedforlowmaintenanceforthelifeoftheunit.Untrainedpersonnelcan performbasicmaintenancefunctions,suchascleaningandreplacingreturnairfilters,iffitted.Filtersshouldbe removed for cleaning at regular intervals, ideally each month during heating season. A blocked filter will restrict airflowandpossiblyoverheattheheatexchangerandmotorwindings,subsequentlyaffectingtheperformanceand lifespanoftheunit. NOTE: Theuseoffiltersonthesupplyairregisterswillrestrictthesupplyairductingandoverheattheheatexchanger, leadingtoareducedlifespanoftheunitandsubsequentlyvoidingthemanufacturerswarranty.However,regularly maintainedfiltersmaybeinstalledonthereturnairgrill. 1.13.
