Description
The Lt Sensors Blood Pressure Sensor is used to non-
invasively measure blood pressure in humans. The
unit is coupled to a transducer converting the applied
cuff pressure to an electronic signal and is supplied
with an adult, child, and thigh cuff.
Operation
To use the Blood Pressure Sensor, plug the sensor into
the USB port of a laptop or desktop computer, with
a Windows operating system. Alternatively, plug the
sensor into a USB hub connected to that computer. A
green LED on the connector housing indicates the transducer is receiving power and is
ready for use.
Application
Wrap the cuff around the arm, approximately 2 cm above the elbow. The pulse is
monitored by the Lt Sensors Finger Pulse Sensor (LTS2020). With the screw valve
closed, squeeze the rubber bulb to inflate the cuff until the recorded pulse diminishes,
then increase pressure by an additional 20 mmHg. Turn the screw anti-clockwise
to release the pressure at a slow constant rate. Do not leave the cuff inflated for a
prolonged time (> 90 seconds).
