Installing Die Sets
1. Remove the thumbscrews from the crimper frame.
2. Install the die set into the tool. Make sure that the text on the side of the die set is shown upright when the
tool is viewed as shown in the illustration on the other side of this page. Make sure that the die set halves
match and align properly when installed in the frame.
3. Hand-tighten the thumbscrews into the frame. Do not use wrenches, pliers, or screwdrivers.
Ratchet Gear Adjustment
1. The tool is preset for modular plug crimping. However, the ratchet may require adjustment over time.
2. Remove the screw located in the ratchet gear.
3. Rotate the ratchet gear until a gear channel is located over the screw hole. Rotate the gear clockwise.
4. Insert the screw from step 2 into the gear.
5. Reduce ratchet force to decrease hand fatigue. Do this by performing the above steps and turning the gear
counter-clockwise. Reducing ratchet force may negatively affect the crimp performance of the tool for the
die set types provided.
