Please read the entire instruction manual before using the product and save it
for future reference. We reserve the right for any errors in text or images and any
necessary changes made to technical data. If you have any questions regarding
technical problems please contact our customer services.
Instructions
• Installation may only be carried out by a certified electrician.
• Read the instruction manual carefully before installing the device and keep
the manual for later reference.
• The product should not be taken apart or modified. This product must
be installed using an approved outdoor cable having a 1.5 mm² area and
according to current laws and regulations.
• This motion detector may not be used in conjunction with a dimmer.
The motion detector is not suitable for controlling inductive/phase-
shifted loads
• The motion detector is more suitable for controlling a resistive load with
a power factor, cosφ of 1 (cos phi = 1), such as an incandescent light bulb.
• When controlling inductive/capacitive loads with low power factors, cosφ
< 1 (cos phi < 1), where the voltage and current are out of phase with each
other, such as fluorescent tubes, CFLs and LED lamps, the operating life
of the relay can be shortened due to the higher starting current required at
the moment the light source is switched on.
• The motion detector should be connected in such a way that it controls
an external relay/contactor capable of withstanding a higher load when
phase-shifted loads are to be controlled via the motion detector (e.g.
a series of fluorescent tube lights or CFLs).
Placement
The detector is IP44 classed, allowing it to be used outdoors.
Consider the following before installing:
1. The detector is made to function optimally when it is mounted 2.5 metres
above ground.
2. Avoid installing it near trees or bushes, since these can interfere with
the detector's functioning especially in windy or rainy weather.
3. Avoid focusing the detector on hot surfaces e.g. ventilation ducts.
4. Avoid mounting the detector so that artificial lighting hits the detector directly
or indirectly. This will disable the twilight function if the LUX control is set to
the dark (  ) setting.
5. Avoid mounting the motion detector close to strong magnetic fields as this
may activate the light unnecessarily.
6. The detector is most effective for detecting motion moving across
the surveillance area and less effective for movement towards the detector.

If possible, adjust the detector so that it can detect movement from
the sides also. The detector works best in low humidity and at an ambient
temperature around 20 °C. Rising and falling temperatures and increased
humidity can contribute to a gradual decreased sensitivity in both angle and
distance detection.
Installation
1. Always turn off the power before installation (set the switch
and fuse to OFF, or unscrew and disconnect
the fuse completely).
2. Remove the screws (1) holding
the back cover and the block
terminal. The cables from
the detector (PIR-cables) are
already mounted to the block
terminal.
3. Fasten the back cover to the wall
using included screws (2). The back
cover must be mounted right side up
with the UP  on top.
4. Thread the power cable through
the insertion hole and connect
the cables to the terminal block
(see fig).
5. Secure the detector to the back cover with the screws (1).
6. Set the activation time and sensitivity using the TIME and LUX controls (3)
at the bottom of the detector.
7. Aim the detector to the desired surveillance area.
Setting
At the bottom are the controls for TIME (activation time) and LUX (brightness).
TIME (activation time)
The TIME control (on the left when facing the device) controls the activation time.
Time can be adjusted from 10 ± 5 seconds to 4 ± 1 minutes. Turn the knob
clockwise to decrease the activation time and anticlockwise to increase it.
LUX (brightness)
The LUX control (on the right when facing the device) controls the brightness
level. Turn the knob anti-clockwise to activate during darkness () and
clockwise for activation also during daylight (  ) (24 hour operation).
Function test
After connecting to the mains, place the detector in "warm-up mode" and
wait for about 30 seconds. It will then switch automatically to AUTO mode.
Once the detector is in AUTO mode you can test it:
1. Set the LUX control to the day position (  ) (fully clockwise) and the TIME
control to the lowest setting (fully clockwise).
2. Move towards the detector. Once the detector activates the light will be on
for the entire set time.
3. Test several times, using a variety of approach angles to set the surveillance area.
