IMPORTANT – Check the electrical wiring specifications for the country in which the heat mats are being
installed. Some countries require hard wiring into a sealed fused electrical box.
Check voltage chart on the back or bottom side of each heat mat – be sure the voltage requirements for each mat
is the same as the voltage supply in your area or building.
"WARNINGS – Fusing must be sized as close as possible to rated input for over-current protection."
1. 110-120 Volt A.C.
2. 220-240 Volt A.C.
3. 24 Volt A.C.
4. To insure the maximum supply of electric current required on a continuous basis, the spades on the
electric cord plugs must be kept polished and corrosion free. This must be checked approximately
every 60 days.
INSTALLATION – (Farrowing Crate or Free Stall Creep Areas)
1. A UL or CE listed thermostat control must be installed to control heat mats to the temperature the
animal needs and is comfortable with.
2. All Heat Mats must be anchored to the flooring. Anchoring holes are provided on the exterior flange
edge of each heat mat for your convince. At the risk of voiding warranty, do not drill additional
holes.
3. Heavy-duty plastic electric cinch pull ties are recommended for securing mats to slatted floors.
4. Electric power supply cords must be protected with a cord cover shield. You can purchase a 1-½
inch PVC conduit for cord protection. Contact us directly for more information.

  • Page 2 To prevent electrical cord damage, cover power cord with 1 ½ inch PVC pipe that ships with the PHMD48 & PHMS48 mats. Fasten the PVC pipe to a solid structure to prevent unnecessary movement of the cord that may place stress on the electrical plug.
  • Page 3 3 OF 3 B. Check the ambient temperature of the room. The ambient temperature may be higher than needed. To check the temperature variation between the room and heat mat, place a thermometer on the heat mat and a thermometer on the floor. After 5 minutes, adjust the thermostat to lower or raise the heat mat temperature so the animal will return to the mat.
