White Convertible Umbrella
The RUT White Convertible umbrella features a removable light blocking
black cover which easily converts from a highly efficient bounce umbrella
to a "shoot through" umbrella.
Get the best of both shooting styles in one umbrella. Industry exclusive
durable and flexible oversized ribs and struts with new and improved
beefy rib and strut pivot points. Premium quality white satin 190 thread
count fabric interior for buttery soft reflections or shoot through diffusion.
These instructions include
• Opening the umbrella.
• Adding and removing the black cover.
(RUT Umbrellas).
• Folding the Umbrella.
Opening the Umbrella
The Umbrella opens like a common
rain umbrella. Figures 1– 4
1. Pull open the Velcro strap that holds the umbrella closed.

2. Reach under the material to find the metal slider on the post.
3. Push the slider up the post and the umbrella will open.
4. The umbrella will lock in place when the metal slider is pushed over
the metal locking tab on the post.
Securing the Umbrella to your Light
NOTE: Set up your light stand and light head in the manner suggested by
your equipments' manufacturers.
Most light heads, head mounting clamps, and LiteStand mounts will
have a receptacle and locking mechanism for securing the umbrella in
front of the light. Figures 5 – 7
5. Here we show a ShoeMount MultiClamp (available separately) as
our umbrella and flash support. Slide the post of the umbrella into
the receptacle hole.
6. Hand-tighten the locking knob.
7. Image shows the umbrella with a flash unit attached.
Adding and Removing the Black Cover
8. The black cover is fastened to the umbrella with end caps that fit
over the end of each rib.
9. Hold a rib with one hand while pulling the cap away from the rib
with the other hand.
10. Pulling off the black cover reveals the white shoot-through umbrella
beneath it.
