PRECISION PURE PUMP KIT MODEL NO. PWS APK-1 - 120V
Congratulations on your purchase of the Model PWS APK-1 Optional Pump Kit. The pump kit is designed to give you many years of trouble free
service.
1. PWS 8-8, remove the distiller head from the storage tank. Turn your distiller (Models PWS 12-12 & 12-20) storage tank upside down. Push the pump
over the 4 (10-24) studs mounted on the bottom of the storage tank. Secure the pump, using the 4 kep nuts provided, to the tank with the pump fittings to
outer edge of tank. Use a 3/8" nut driver, socket and ratchet or pliers. See Figure #2.
2. Remove plastic cap off of the stainless steel nipple on the bottom of the storage tank and apply several layers of Teflon tape. Screw one elbow on the
stainless steel tank nipple. Make sure the elbow is turned to face the pump inlet fitting, tighten snug. Take the second elbow and screw onto the pump
inlet side facing the drain elbow; use caution not to over-tighten on the plastic pump threads. See Figure #2
3. Wrap tefon tape on the treads of the 2 adaptors. Screw adaptors into the stainless steel elbows. Tighten fittings.
4. Slide the shut-off clamp onto the silicone tubing, then the 2 plastic hose clamps onto each end of the silicone tubing. Push each end of the silicone
tubing onto the 2 hose bard adaptor fittings. Secure with the plastic clamps. The Shut-Off Clamp is provided to stop the flow of water to the pump if
required for servicing.
5. Slide one of the ½" Nut/Cone/Ring set onto the ½"OD Plastic Tubing and connect to the outlet port on the pump. Run tubing to faucet location and
secure with the ½" line clips provided.
5. To install your faucet you will require to drill a 7/8" hole in the sink. Drill a 9/16" or 5/8" hole through the counter, sub floor and floor to
accommodate the water line. Install the faucet through the 7/8" hole in the sink and use the fitting provided to secure. Tighten with basin wrench.
6. Secure ½" tubing into faucet with the remaining ½" Nut/Cone/Ring set and tighten. Use caution not to overtighten.
7. It is a good idea to pour approximately 4-5 gallons of distilled water into your storage tank after you install the pump to check the fitting for leaks.
However, if you do not have any water available, let the distiller run. As it fills the storage tank, the water will automatically turn the pump switch on
and the pump will pressurise your water line, check for leaks at this time.
