    Unless otherwise specified, all instructions in this manual assume that you are starting from a Home screen. To get to a Home screen, you may need to unlock the device. For more information, see “Securing Your Device” on page 11.

    If you purchased your device at a Verizon Wireless store, it is activated and ready to use. If you received a new device by mail, it may need to be activated before you can use it. To activate your device, choose from the following: Visit a Verizon Wireless store.
