DayMark 5 Operating Instructions

Quick Links

Pull the knob out to
line up the
arrow on
the Dial Shaft
with the
appropriate
band. Push
back when the
character is
set.
Slowly
squeeze the
Operating Lever
until
the
Ink Roller
Holder
is exposed.
Pull up gently on the
Holder.
While
holding it out with one hand, remove
the
Ink Roller
from the Holder.
Additional labels and ink rollers may be purchased by calling 800-847-0101.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Problem:
Labels are not advancing
Printing is too light on one side of the label
Numbers not printing clearly
Bottom cover will not open
Printing looks too high/low on labels
Printing hits between two labels
Ink roller will not spring back up
Loosen all three
Head Adjustment
Screws
on all three
print head. Move
heads either
forward or
backward to line
up the copy on the
label. Tighten
the screws.
Insert a new
Ink
Roller. Press the
Holder. back
into position.
Check the following:
Make sure sprocket is advancing
Clean off the adhesive buildup on the sprocket or print base
Make sure the ink roller and ink roller holder is making
contact with the heads in a uniform manner.
Clean the bands with a soft, dry brush. Lint, mixing with ink,
will create a buildup on and around the characters on the
bands; or replace ink roller.
It may be caught on the side plates which may need to be
slightly pulled outward.
Adjust the head forward or backward.
Reload the labels for correct alignment on the sprocket.
Check the springs to be sure they are operating on the ink
roller holder.

DayMark will repair and recondition your date coding markers as long as
labels and ink rollers are being purchased from DayMark. DayMark's
replacement policy requires our customers to send in the marker needing
reconditioning first, before a replacement marker is issued.
For Replacement
1)
Call your customer service representative at 1-800-847-0101 to request
a replacement marker.
2)
A Return Authorization Number (RA#) will be assigned for your return.
Label your box for your DayMark marker return.

Upon receipt of the return marker, DayMark will ship a replacement
marker to you within 24-48 hours. DayMark markers with "special
band layouts" will require a longer lead time.
