    Installing to Windows Please read the following instructions to install printer drivers to Windows operating system. When you connect the machine via network, see “Installing via network connection” (page 1-6). When you connect the machine and computer with USB cable, “Installing via local connection”...

    Using the machine as a shared printer If you are going to use the machine as a shared printer on a Windows network with the printer driver installed on a print server, follow the steps below to install the printer driver on the print server and the client computers.

Open the network computer window, and double-click the print server. Double-click the shared printer name. The printer driver will be installed automatically.

    Setting up printer options When the optional devices are attached to your machine, enable these devices. The procedure may slightly vary according to the version of the operating system. In the printers window, right-click your printer icon, then click [Properties]. For Windows 7, right-click your printer icon, then click [Printer Properties].

    Canceling a print job When canceling a print job, first try to cancel it on the computer. If you cannot cancel printing on the computer, cancel it on the machine.     Printing a booklet Use this option for multi-page documents to be printed and stacked to create a booklet when folded in half in the center. NOTE You cannot use custom size paper for duplex printing. Open the printer settings screen on the computer (page 2-4).

    Printing documents securely The “Security Printing” function temporarily saves the print data in the memory of the machine, and resumes printing after the user is authenticated by the machine. This enables you to prevent the content of printed documents being read by others before you retrieve the documents.
