Error Code 61

Explanation: Combustion Fan failure. Fan motor does not work properly. At a minimum check
the following:
5. Ensure fan motor will turn freely. Motor will operate with a small amount of restriction.
6. Check there is some volume of air from the flue outlet at the top of the heater.
7. Check wiring harness to motor for damaged and/or loose connections.
8. Check Molex connections of the PCB.
Does the Fan
operate?
Yes
The water heater appears to be
normal. Attempt to operate
again.
Replace Printed Circuit Board

Error Code 65

Explanation: Water Volume Control fault. At a minimum check the following:
4. Verify there is water flow thru the unit even if the unit does not fire.
5. Access maintenance information to determine flow rate.
6. Check all wiring connections to the water control and connector B on the Printed Circuit
Board.
Turn power off
and then on

pulse output
from the Fan

Yes
Is the voltage to
the water
control OK?
Measure the voltage at connector B between the
Red#7 and Black#8 wires for:

Replace Printed Circuit
Board
Measure the voltage of connector G between
Blue and White wires: 120 to 160 VDC
If you accidentally cross the BLUE and
WHITE wires with your multimeter leads,
you will short out the circuit board and the
fan motor.
No
Replace Fan Assembly
Is there any pulse output from the
Fan Motor? To measure the pulse
output, turn on the fan by pushing
"MAX" (SW2) Button. Measure
the voltage of connector G between
Blue and Yellow wires:
4 to 10 VDC (pulse)
No
Replace the Printed Circuit Board
8 to 16 VDC
