• Creating a Catchlight
A catchlight is a reflection of the flash in
the subject's eyes. A catch light in the
eyes makes the subject look more lively.
For portraits, you can easily create a
catchligh t with the 550EX.
Tilt the flash head upward all the way by
90' . Extend the built-in wide panel until it
clicks in place as shown in the figure. To
take a picture , lollow the
same
procedure in "5. Bounce Flash."

The subject should not
be
farther than
1.5 meters 14.9 ft lrom the camera.

It the
wide panel Is extended while the
flash head is at the normal or 7" downward
tIlt pos ition, the 550EX's LCD panel
display will blink as a warning. TIlllhe flash
head upward by 90".
