Heat pump cascade: 1-stage/2-stage

Type BW 190 to BW 2240 and WW 1125 to WW 2300
A heat pump cascade consists of a lead
heat pump and lag heat pumps.
Each lag heat pump has a heat pump
control unit. Both the lead and the lag
heat pumps can have 2 stages respec-
tively.
The lead heat pump regulates operation
of the heat pumps within the cascade.
Preparing for installation

connecting via KM-BUS in conjunction
with the external extension H1 (see
page 66 and separate service
instructions for heat pump control unit
Vitotronic 200).
■ Up to 4 lag heat pumps when connect-
ing via LON (see separate service
instructions for heat pump control unit
Vitotronic 200).
The following communication modules
(accessories) must be fitted in the heat
pump control units:
– Cascade LON communication mod-
ule in the lead heat pump
– LON communication module in lag
