1.
Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
Remove the service cover:
1.
Slide the service cover release latch (1).
2.
Remove the optional security screw (2) (if it is being used).
NOTE:

Slide the release latch again (3) to release the service cover.
4.
Slide the service cover toward the front of the computer (4).
5.
Lift the service cover (5) and remove it.
Reverse this procedure to install the service cover.

If the optional security screw is not being used, it can be stored inside the service cover.
