• Ensure the camera window is clean and not obstructed.
• Enable bar code scan (see "capture options" on page 68).
• Unreadable bar code. Ensure the symbol is not defaced.
• Distance between exit window and bar code is incorrect. Place the EWP
within proper scanning range.
• EWP is not programmed for the bar code (see camera decode capability in
"specifications" on page 109).
• Trigger type is incorrect. Set the trigger type (see "capture options" on
page 68).
• Ambient light is too dark. Enable bar code illumination (see "capture options"
on page 68).
• Scan time out is too short. Increase scan time out (see "capture options" on
page 68)

• This sign shows when the EWP turns on. Wait for 1 to 2 minutes, until the
EWP connects to the network and "Full Service" shows on the screen.
• If you are out of the coverage area of your enterprise, the EWP may not be
able to communicate with the system properly. Restart your EWP.
