Rotate the mode dial to M.

Press the multi selector

to activate the
shutter speed setting.
The active setting switches between shutter speed alld
aperture each time the multi selector ~ is pressed
At speeds slower than 1/4 sec., the shutter speed
indicator turns red (~ 47).

When adjusting apel'ture or shutter speed,
the degree of deviation from the exposure
value measured by the camera is displayed
for a few seconds in the exposure display.
The degree of deviation in the exposure
display is s own in EVs (-2 to +2 EV in
increments of 1/3 EV) A display similar to
that illustrated at right indicates that the
picture will be overexposed by 1 EV (+ 1).

Rotate the command dial to choose
a shutter speed between 1/2,000
sec. and 8 sec.
