local codes. This appliance is only for use with
the type of gas indicated on the rating plate. This
appliance is not convertible for use with other
gases, unless a certified kit is used.

    Step 4. FIELD WIRING Caution: Label all wires prior to disconnection when servicing controls. Wiring errors can cause improper and dangerous operation. Verify proper operation after servicing. Refer to Section A for millivolt appliances and Section B for electronic appliances. The gas valve is set in place and pre-wired at the factory on both models.

    If the air shutter opening is too small sooting may develop. Sooting is indicated by black puffs developing at the tips of very long orange flames. Sooting results in black deposits forming on the logs, appliance inside surfaces and on exterior surfaces adjacent to the vent termination.
