    ETTING TARTED Installing the battery Your Kyocera KX12 phone comes with a removable lithium ion (LiIon) battery. Fully charge the battery before using the phone. To charge the battery see “Charging the battery” on page 2. Only connect the charger as instructed.
  • Page 10 You must have at least a partial charge in the battery to make or receive calls. When charging your Kyocera KX12 phone, you must insert the battery charger plug correctly or the phone can be damaged. Improperly inserting the plug can damage the small receptor inside the charger jack.

    Understanding screen icons These icons may appear on your phone’s home screen and the external LCD. The phone is operating in IS2000 (1X) digital mode. The phone is operating in IS95 digital mode. The phone is operating in Analog (FM) mode. T2T service is not available in this mode.

    Saving, editing, and erasing T2T groups You can create up to 30 T2T groups with up to 20 members per group. The total number of contacts saved in your phone (including T2T and non-T2T contacts and groups) cannot exceed 99. You can create a T2T group from a list of contacts in another group or add new contacts to a group from scratch.
