Playing music fi les
using the USB device
You can play music fi les contained in the USB
device.

Basic Operation

1. Insert a USB device to the IPod/USB Port until it
fi ts into place.
2. Press IPOD/USB.
The total number of fi les is displayed on the
display window.
3. Referring to the following table, press the
corresponding button for the operation.
Remote control Description
buttons
d (PLAY) Starts playback.
M (PAUSE) Pauses playback.
Z (STOP) Stops playback.
During playback, press C or
C/V
(SKIP) V to go to the next fi le or
to return to the beginning of
the current fi le.
Press C twice briefl y to step
back to the previous fi le.
During playback, press and
c/v
(SCAN) hold c or v and then
release at a point you want.

Playing repeatedly or randomly

Press REPEAT (h) on the remote control
repeatedly during playback.
Display Description
OFF Returns to normal playback.
RPT 1 Plays the current fi le repeatedly.
RPT D Plays all the fi les repeatedly within a
folder.
RPT ALL Plays all the fi les repeatedly.
RANDOM Plays all the fi les in random order.
Music fi le requirement
Music fi le compatibility with this unit is limited as
follows:
 Sampling frequency : within 32 to 48 kHz (MP3),
within 32 to 48 kHz (WMA)
 Bit rate : within 32 to 320 kbps (MP3),
40 to 192 kbps (WMA)
 Support Version : v2, v7, v8, v9
 Maximum fi les : Under 999
 File extensions : ".mp3"/ ".wma"
 We recommend that you use Easy-CD Creator,
which creates an ISO 9660 fi le system.

USB device requirement

 A device using NTFS fi le system is not supported.
(Only FAT (12/16/32) fi le system is supported.)
 Do not extract the USB device during operation
(play, etc.).
 A USB device which requires additional program
installation when you have connected it to a
computer, is not supported.
 USB device: USB device that supports USB1.1.
 Regular back up is recommended to prevent
data loss.
 If you use a USB extension cable, USB HUB or
USB Multi-reader, the USB device may not be
recognized.
 Some USB device may not work with this unit.
 Digital camera and mobile phone are not
supported.
 IPod/USB Port of the unit cannot be connected
to PC. The unit cannot be used as a storage
device.
 When you connect a partitioned USB device into
the unit, only the fi rst partition is recognized on
it.
