    Introduction The Falcon 4220 is a compact and rugged Personal Digital Assistant ® (PDA) using the Microsoft Windows CE .NET v4.2 operating system. ® The PDA uses an Intel XScale microprocessor and a 3.5” VGA, color touchscreen display. The PDA supports RF wireless LAN 802.11b (embedded module) for communication.

You must charge both the battery pack and backup battery for at least thirteen (13) hours prior to first use. You can use either the power adaptor or a dock to charge the batteries.

    Batteries Batteries The battery pack in the PDA is a Lithium Ion Polymer battery pack 3.7V. The power LED flashes blue to indicate a low battery state. Do not turn on the unit for the first time until batteries have charged for at least thirteen (13) hours.

    Battery Power Gauge. The control panel applet displays a bat- Power tery power gauge. Refer to “Power Configuration” in the 4220 Product Reference Guide. Low Battery Conditions. When the battery pack is low, the Power LED on the device flashes blue.

    After using the Falcon, if a low battery indicator appears, the main battery needs recharging. Make sure the Falcon is firmly seated in the dock, charger, or power adaptor. If it is not firmly seated, battery charging and communication with the Host PC will NOT be initiated.

Each of these navigation areas have sub- areas of navigation as well. Take the time to familiarize yourself with these features to save yourself valuable time.

    Using the Dock 5. Upon reading a bar code, the device beeps and the green LED indicator comes on until the trigger is released or after five (5) seconds. The green LED and the beep tone indicate a good read. If the bar code scan failed, adjust the reading angle or distance.
