Understanding Your Test Results

What's Normal?
The normal fasting adult blood sugar range for a non-
diabetic is 70 - 105 mg/dL

. One or two hours after
meals, normal blood sugar levels should be less than
140 mg/dL

. Your doctor will determine the range
that is appropriate for you.
Unusual Test Results
IF...
your blood sugar result is
within the "normal" range,
AND...
you experience symptoms
of high or low blood sugar,

THEN...
run a control test with your control solutions (see page
42, Control Testing ). If the control result is within the
acceptable range, review the proper testing procedure
and repeat your blood test. If your blood sugar result still
does not reflect the way you feel, contact your doctor.
