Thor CV31 Vehicle-Mount Computer User Manual
You can troubleshoot general problems while using the computer. Before
you call Intermec Product Support, look for your problem in the next table,
and try the possible solutions.
Problems Using the Computer
Problem
You tap the screen and nothing
happens.
You press the Power button and
nothing happens.
The computer appears to be
locked up, and you cannot enter
data.
You installed an external
antenna, but the computer does
not detect it.
You connected a serial printer to
COM1 or COM3, but your
application cannot open the
COM port.
Chapter 5 — Troubleshoot and Maintain the Computer
Possible Solution
Align the screen.
• The battery may be completely
drained. Replace or charge the
battery.
• Restart the computer.
• Press the Power button and select
Suspend. Press the Power button
again to turn the screen back on.
• Press the Power button and select
Reboot.
• Cold boot the computer.
• Reload the firmware.
Manually enable the antenna:
1 Tap Start > Settings > Control
Panel > Intermec Settings.
2 Tap Device Settings > Antenna.
3 Under Force external antenna,
select Enabled.
By default, COM1 and COM3 are
enabled for serial scanners. You need
to disable the COM port for scanners:
1 Start Intermec Settings.
2 Tap Data Collection > Tethered
Scanners > Tethered Scanner
(COM1 or COM3) > Enable
scanner port.
3 Clear the Enable scanner port
check box.
