Getting to Know Your Vibe
6
Advanced Passive Suppression
Passenger Air Bag
Your Vibe is equipped with an advanced
passive suppression air bag system for
the front seat passenger. The system
gauges the weight of an occupant and
then sends the information to a control
module that determines whether, and to
what extent, the air bag should be
deployed. The system automatically
turns off the air bag to protect small
adults and will not deploy when the seat
is empty. This feature works automati-
cally and requires no driver or passen-
ger interaction.
See Section 1 of your Owner Manual.

Rear Center Seat Belt Operation

All rear seat positions, including the cen-
ter position, are equipped with seat
belts. Should you have difficulty latching
the rear-center seat belt or left-rear seat
belt, it may be a result of the left-rear
seat belt buckle and the center buckle
being mispositioned. Both outboard seat
belt latch plates and buckles are differ-
ent from the center latch plate and buck-
le. For easier identification, the center
seat belt buckle includes the word
"CENTER" on its side.
See Section 1 of your Owner Manual.

LATCH

Your vehicle is equipped with the Lower
Anchorages and Top Tethers for
CHildren (LATCH) system, which
requires a special, compatible Child
Restraint Seat. The seats have two
attaching points at the base as well as a
top tether anchor. These points attach to
LATCH locations in the outboard posi-
tions of the second-row seat. LATCH
locations are below the LATCH fabric
labels on all second-row seats. A cov-
ered compartment in the floor of the rear
cargo area houses the top strap
anchors. Lift the compartment door to
find the anchors if they have rotated.
See Section 1 of your Owner Manual.
