Chassis Description & Troubleshooting

9. Power Supply and Failure Detection

Detection of Power failure
Projector provides a protection circuit to prevent the secondary failure when the power failure, fans failure or tempera-
ture failure occurs on the projector. The power failure detection lines "PF_S16", "FAN_PF13", etc. are connected to
the main power supplies and fans. When the failure occurs, IC801<CPU> receives an error information through the
power failure detection lines and turns off the signal "POWER_SW_CPU" output from pin 211 to stop the power sup-
ply operation.
In the DVI, AV and MOTHER board, the power failure detection signals are sent to IC9016, IC9017<I/O EXPANDER>
and then sent to IC801<CPU> through the IIC bus line. In the MAIN board, the power failure detection signals are sent
to IC4713, IC4714<I/O EXPANDER> and then sent to IC801<CPU> through the parallel bus line. In the LCD board,
the power failure detection signals are sent to IC4411<I/O EXPANDER> and then sent to IC801<CPU> through the
IIC bus line. For fans FN909 and FN913, the power failure detection signals are sent to IC4714<I/O EXPANDER> and
then sent to IC801<CPU> through the IIC bus line. For fans connected to the SUB POWER board, the power failure
detection signals are sent to IC801<CPU> through the IIC bus line.
