6.1 Installing Software for Firmware Update

6.1.1 Outline

The procedure to update the system firmware of the SYS board using the PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol)
and FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is described in this section.

6.1.2 Requirements

The following environment is necessary to update the firmware.
Software Requirements for PC
– Microsoft Windows95/98
– Virtual modem
– FTP Server/ tools (ex. War FTP Daemon)
Use a serial cable for the DTE-DTE connection to connect the PC and SYS board.
(Update cannot be performed with the cable for the DCE-DCE connection)
