This kit must be assembled according to the numerical order of the parts listed above. -

• Use of non-detergent or vegetable oils is not recommended. Use Honda 4-stroke oil or a highly detergent engine oil of equivalent quality, classified as API categories SG, SF. SAE 10W40 oil is recommended for general use at all temperatures, but it is suggested that a viscosity appropriate to the average temperature in the area of use is chosen from the table. -
Page 11: Checking The Petrol Level
The use of petrol containing alcohol is advised against. However, if this is used as fuel, ensure that its octane rating is as high as that recommended by Honda. Two types of alcohol/petrol mixtures exist: one containing ethanol, the other methanol. -

• Never start-up the generating set with devices connected to the receptacles, this could cause their deterioration. ECM2800 1. Open the fuel shut-off valve [1] (in the direction of the “ON” arrow), close the choke by pulling the lever [2] as shown. -

This must be carried out by your Honda dealer. In spite of a proper adjustment to the fuel feed system, engine power will still decrease by 3.5 % for every 300 metre increase in altitude. -

Check ECMT7000 Clean NOTE: (1) Clean more often if used in a dusty environment. (2) These operations must be carried out by a Honda dealer, unless the user has the special tools necessary and is qualified to do the work. -

MAINTENANCE AIR CLEANER The engine will not run properly if the air cleaner is dirty: it is very important that the air cleaner is serviced regularly. Never use petrol or inflammable solvents to clean air cleaner elements: these products can cause fire and damage the air cleaner elements. 1. -

MAINTENANCE SPARK PLUG Recommended spark plugs: BPR-6ES (NGK) W20EPR-U (NIPPONDENSO Co., Ltd). CAUTION : • The use of spark plugs with an incorrect heat range can cause damage to the engine. If the engine has been running, do not touch the muffler or the spark plug as you risk burning yourself. -

4. Use a wire brush to remove carbon deposits from the spark arrester screen and check that it is not damaged. 5. Reassemble the spark arrester and the screw [2]. ECM2800 NOTE: we recommend that maintenance of the spark arrester be entrusted to an authorized Honda dealer. -

MAINTENANCE CLEANING OF SEDIMENT CUP AND FUEL FILTER 1. Close the fuel shut-off valve (“OFF” position) and the remove the cup [1], the O-ring [2] and the fuel shut-off valve filter [3]. 2. Wash the parts in a non-inflammable solvent and dry O FF them. -
