Using a VCR with Digital TV

Using a VCR with Digital TV is different than with analog cable or antenna TV service.
The digital TV receiver (set top box) converts the signal from our digital network to
a compatible signal for your TV and VCR. Since the receiver only receives one channel
at a time, your VCR is only capable of recording the channel that the receiver is tuned to.
Recording to a VCR tape:
Since all of the channel changing functions happen in the digital receiver (STB), you
need to change the channel on the receiver to the channel you would like to record.
Important: Your VCR needs to be set to record channel _____ or input _____. You will also
need to set your receiver (STB) to the channel you want to record. Your TV does not have
to be on, but the receiver must be turned on to record properly.
Step by step:
1. Turn TV on
2. VCR on
3. Set TV input to _____
4. Set VCR to record at the desired time (the time the desired show will air)
5. Set VCR to record channel _____ or input ______
6. Turn your Digital TV receiver to the channel you would like to record from
Watching a VCR tape:
To watch a VCR recording change the TV to input______, Play, FF, RW as normal.
Notes:
Please note that Integra offers Digital Video Recorders (DVR) for $2/mo. more than a stan-
dard receiver. DVRs allow you to record one show while you watch another, and allows for
much easier, more reliable setup. The recording quality and safety of your recordings is also
greatly improved over VCR tapes.
