Network adapters

The x3690 X5 offers two integrated Gigabit Ethernet ports, based on the Broadcom BCM5709C controller.
Some models also have an Emulex 10Gb Dual-port Ethernet Adapter (feature 1648) installed as standard
in Slot 5. See Table 2 for specifics. This adapter is functionally identical to the Emulex 10Gb Virtual Fabric
Adapter for IBM System x, 49Y4250. The difference is that the Emulex 10Gb Dual-port Ethernet Adapter
has a longer edge connector meaning that the card can only be installed in this server. For technical
