What to do if your PDS is Messed Up
(saifharoon) I've tried multiple programs to create a PDS backup on my v3x but all the time it switches into boot
mode and when it sends the loader the phone says Critical error 80,40.
(Cash7c3) you ain't gonna get it with any programs currently available
(GR4Y). So what do you do if your PDS is messed up?
(Cash7c3) send it to someone with a smart clip
(Alsitn) a smart clip and an internet connection is what you'll need at least for now!
(yjason_mirell) For your problem you will need "original" PDS section that should be written before the CG1. If you
manage to find the file you should write it on the phone starting at offset 10000000 up to 1000FFFF.

Turn on camera light (flash) with flip closed
[zbruder] The only way you can use the flash with the flip closed right now is to turn on the camera then press the *
key for the flash, then close the flap. It will stay on till you turn off the camera.

Operator Logos and Cellular Tower IDs
(jasonwatkins) I'm on the "3" network in the UK, but it always comes back as branded to O2. I can make and receive
calls and send and receive SMS messages with no problems, and also access the "3" internet portal fine as well, but I
just want to remove the operator logo !!. I've tried installing a different skin that is supposed to not have an operator
logo, but it STILL comes up as "O2-UK". So i'm stumped !!. Any help greatly appreciated.
[steve8411] OK ... LOL. Much like we have here in the US. Your phone is picking up a tower owned by 02. That has
nothing to do with branding, but rather than reading from your SIM, its reading the tower ID . It's 100% normal. You
can seem edit to read the provider from SIM if you choose.... by I just mod the skin and take the provider off
complete .

[jasonwatskins] well there's the thing .. i installed the bluetechno skin as a test, because it was designed with no
operator logo and it made no difference as it still picked up the operator logo, so I guess i'd be looking at a seem edit
as a more permanent way of doing it ..
[ebentley] @jason: Read the V3x Personalization Guide (paragraph 3.13) or Rasputin's skinning guide (you can
download from any of the sites in my signature) and they will show you how to quickly and easily (using Skinner4Moto)
safely remove the carrier logo from your chosen skins. Process takes 10 seconds.
