Air Filter Removal and Cleaning

NOTE: Never operate air conditioner with filter
removed.
Mini Chassis Air Filter Removal
See Figure 4. Remove filter by lifting handle located on
top of front grille and pulling filter free of unit.

Procedure
Inspect evaporator coil for dirt, bent fins, and other
obstructions. Clean/repair if necessary.
NOTE: Inspect more often in dusty environments.
Inspect interior and exterior of outer case for scratches,
paint blisters, rust, and other damage. Repair as necessary.
NOTE: Inspect more often in salty or other corrosive
environments.
Inspect base pan for scratches, blisters, rust, dents, and other
damage. Repair as necessary.
NOTE: In areas of excessive humidity, using an algaecide (an
algae inhibitor) in base pan may reduce algae build-up.

Small and Large Chassis Air Filter Removal
See Figure 5. Access filter by removing front grille, then
lift filter off tabs on front frame.

Cleaning Air Filter
Clean filter by vacuuming. Especially dirty filters can be
cleaned with a mild solution of warm soapy water. Rinse
filter of all soap residue and completely dry before
reinstalling.
