Before using your device, please read the
safety and operating instructions carefully.
Only then you will be able to use all the func-
tions safely and reliably. Keep this manual safe and pass
it on to any subsequent user.
Proper use
The SD 5Y smoke detector is an acoustical photoelectrical
smoke and fire alarm system which alerts you in case of
slowly burning, smouldering fire in your apartment,
house or caravan and the garden house. The smoke
detector detects smoke and other combustion products
early. loud siren (85 dB ) warns you from the danger
of suffocating and burning.
This device is exclusively intended for use in private
domains in accordance with this manual and may not be
used for commercial purposes.
ny other form of use constitutes improper use and can
result in material damage and even personal injury.
The manufacturer does not accept any liability for
damage caused due improper use.
Safety Instructions
- Do not use the device if it is damaged or appears to
be damaged.
- Locate the device out of the reach of children.
- The device is meant only for indoor use.
Please do not locate the device in moist
areas in the vicinity of water or at places,
which are listed below as unsuitable.
- Follow the regulary the Self test function as described
below.
- Pay attention to the battery low warning system.

cies according instructions below.
Battery safety
Please read these instructions very carefully.
Disregarding these instructions can cause damages/
injuries and possibly even an explosion of batteries!
Do not short-circuit the contacts, for example by
common storage with metallic objects.
Do not expose batteries to long periods of direct sunlight
or heat.
Do not throw batteries into the fire.
Do not open batteries, they do not contain any parts that
need to be maintained.
Only replace batteries with the same type or with an
equivalent recommended by the manufacturer.
Never charge batteries.
