Trouble
Motor will not start.
Band Saw vibrates
excessively.
Miter cuts not
accurate.
Cuts not square.
Finished surface of
workpiece is rough,
unsatisfactory.

Probable Cause
No incoming power.
Blown electrical panel fuses.
Defective motor, switch, power cable,
or plug.
Stand on uneven surface.
Saw blade has cracks.
Too heavy a cut.
Setting of the miter stops is not
correct.
Downfeed rate too fast.
90° angle stop not set correctly.
Incorrect blade toothing in relation to
workpiece.
Incorrect adjustment of bearing
guides and guide assembly.
Workpiece incorrectly positioned in
vise.
Poor blade tension.
Blade is dull, or its parameters are not
right for thickness of piece being cut.
Downfeed rate too fast.
Blade tension too low.
Blade speed not correct.
Remedy
Check plug connection.
Replace fuses.
Qualified electrician/service personnel
should inspect these items.
Adjust stand for even support.
Replace blade immediately.
Reduce downfeed rate.
Unloosen the screws and adjust the
stops to correct positions. Use an
adjustable square or protractor to
check angle settings.
Reduce downfeed rate.
Adjust stop until blade is square with
vise.
Use proper blade size and tooth for
that particular workpiece.
Re-adjust these. See page 16.
Check positioning and clamping in the
vise. See Figure 24.
Check and correct if needed. See
page 14.
Sharpen or replace dull blade. Make
sure blade is proper size and tooth for
workpiece.
Reduce downfeed rate.
Increase blade tension.
Move belt to proper pulley grooves.
