This chapter provides an overview of a typical Rapid Eye Multi-Media DVR installation
process:
Connecting cameras to your Rapid Eye Multi-Media DVR
Connecting the Multi-Media DVR to a network, telephone line, or both
Configuring the Multi-Media DVR

A Multi-Media DVR can be operated:
Without a personal computer (PC). Connect a VGA monitor and mouse directly to
the DVR to use LocalView, onsite.
With a PC, for remote access using View and Admin software. For more information,
see
Chapter 2,
Installation.
Note
Installers need to use LocalView briefly to change the IP Address of the DVR.
Availability of LocalView on V9 DVRs Offering Video Analytics
LocalView is now fully supported by Rapid Eye's latest V9 software. Earlier V9 software
cannot access full LocalView features; only network configuration is available (as in
LocalView to Modify the IP Address of the DVR
