The engine won't start or is hard to stort.
What con I
do?
You're
not
out
of gas are you?
It happens sometimes.
Is the spark plug wire attached to the plug?
Check the spark plug porceloin, maybe
it
is crocked.
The spark plug may be fouled; cleon the electrodes and reset the plug gop; instructions or.
under "CHECK SPARK PLUG" in this manual.
Is the gas line obstructed?
Remove fuel line at carburetor and check 'or
obstruction.
Drain
gos tank and replace with cleon, fresh gasoline.
Is the fuel cleon?
You didn't use a dirty or rusty gas can did
you?
If you
did,
It might
be
better
to
let Sears check the fuel system and
carburetor.
Stole gas thot has set oround and lost
its
strength Is a trouble maker
. . .
hard start ing and
loss of power
results.
Maybe there is woter in the
gos.
Condensation in the tonk or in your gos con sometimes
hoppens.
Carburetor could
be
out of adjustment
..
.
check "CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT" in
manual.
Maybe
you
over-choked and flooded 'ttle engine.
Put throttle in run or fast position and cronk
several times to cleor out the excess
gos.
Your throttle control may
be
set so that it does
not
fully close the
choke.
Dirty or plugged oir cleoner?
See "SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS" in this manual.
My engine misses or locks. power under
load.
Whot might couse this'
Your throttle control could
be
set too close to choke position and flooding the
engine.
Spark plug?
See under "HARD TO
START".
Maybe it needs cleaning or
replacing.
Water in the fuel does not help the engine to run very
good
and robs It of
power.

Improper carburetor
adjustment.
Check "CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT" in this manuot
Got enough 011 in crankcase?
Low oil level or dirty oil makes
trouble.
A
partia
lly plugged ajr cleoner
will
restrict the air flow to the corburetor and reduce
power.
See manual.
The et'lQine breathes
through
the oir cleaner.
Don't put oil in the
gas.
It reduces the efficiency of the engine.
The engine seems to overheat.
Whot should I do?
Be
sure
you
hove plenty of oil in the erankease and that
it
is cleon. When did you change lost?
Check the 011 level in your
crankcase.
Low
oil level will couse overheating.
Sometimes
the
muffler can get
plugged.
This caU5e$ bock pressure, over-heating ond
loss
of
power.
