Focusing on Moving Subjects for Shooting (Subject Tracking)

Subject tracking begins once you select a subject to be focused on, and the focus
area will move and follow the subject.

Display the shooting menu (A82), use the
multi selector to choose AF area mode, and
press the k button.

Choose s Subject tracking and press the k
button.
• The camera enters subject tracking, and a white border
is displayed at the center of the frame.

Select a subject.
• Frame the subject in the center of the border, and press
the k button.
- The subject is registered.
- When the camera is unable to focus on the subject,
the border lights in red. Change the composition and
try again.
• Once the subject is registered, it is framed by a yellow
focus area display, and subject tracking begins.
• To change subjects, press the k button to cancel the
currently selected subject, then select a new subject.
• If the camera loses sight of the subject, the focus area
display disappears; register the subject again.
