Customizing Your Handset
• Clock — controls whether the time and date
appear on the idle screen; sets time and date
format; sets year.
• Menu View — controls whether the items on
your main menu and Java applications menu
appear as large icons or a list.
• Large Dialing — sets large digits to appear on
the idle screen when you enter a number.
• Language — sets the language that your
handset displays.
Phone Calls Features
The Phone Calls menu controls how your handset
handles phone calls:
• Set Line — sets phone line 1 or phone line 2 as
the active line for outgoing calls.
• Any Key Ans — If this feature is on, you can
answer calls by pressing any key on the keypad.
• Auto Redial — sets your handset to
automatically redial calls you make when the
system is busy.
• Call Waiting — See "Call Waiting" on page 51.

• Auto Ans — sets your handset to automatically
answer an incoming call after a specified
number of rings. When this feature is on, the
handset answers by connecting you to the
caller; it does not send the call to voice mail,
unless you are out of coverage or on the line.
• Flip Activation — See "Setting Flip Actions" on
page 55.
• Minute Beep — causes a beep to sound every
minute of an active call.
• Call Duration — causes the duration of a call to
appear on the display when the call ends.
• Hearing Aid — sets your handset for use with a
hearing aid when you are in a phone call. Set to
Microphone for most hearing aids; set to
Telecoil for telecoil hearing aids. This setting
affects only sounds from the handset's earpiece.
• Notifications — See "Message Notifications" on
page 61.
• DTMF Dialing — sets whether you can hear
DTMF (dual tone multi-frequency) tones with
your keypad presses. Set to Always to always
hear keypad presses; set to Never to never hear
keypad presses; set to In Call Only to hear
keypad presses only while in a call.
