    Installing and Removing a PCI Express x16 Card CAUTION When installing any PCI Express x16 card on the desktop board, ensure that it is fully seated in the PCI Express x16 connector before you power on the system. If the card is not fully seated in the PCI Express x16 connector, an electrical short may result across the PCI Express x16 connector pins.

Figure 20 shows the correct installation of the cable. NOTE ATA-66/100 compatible cables are backward compatible with drives using slower IDE transfer protocols.

    Intel Desktop Board D955XCS Product Guide Replacing the Battery A coin-cell battery (CR2032) powers the real-time clock and CMOS memory. When the computer is not plugged into a wall socket, the battery has an estimated life of three years. When the computer is plugged in, the standby current from the power supply extends the life of the battery.

Updating the BIOS with the Intel With the Intel Express BIOS Update utility you can update the system BIOS while in the Windows environment.
