does not take messages) or answering & recording mode (which takes messages.)

Advice : Prior to using the answering-only mode, make sure that you have
adapted the outgoing message.
Screening the calls while a message is being left
This allows you to listen to any caller leaving a message and to decide whether or
not to take the call. By default the call screening is activated on the base station.

During call screening, the volume can be adjusted either from the base
station or the handset. 4 volume levels are available, including silent.
