Owner’s Manual — IDEAL ASSEMBLY ASSEMBLY PARTS ASSEMBLE AND ATTACH THE HANDLE Fit the lower section of the handle over the handle posts on either side of the mower. Then place the washer over the post, insert the cotter pin and bend its ends back over the post as shown in above left photo.
Owner’s Manual — IDEAL ADJUSTING THE CUTTING HEIGHT The cutting height of the IDEAL may be adjusted from approximately 1.5 inch up to approximately 3.5 inches. Actual height may vary according to the density of the turf. Adjust the mower to the desired height first by rocking the handle forward so that it is sitting on the ground and the mower is upside down.
Owner’s Manual — IDEAL Unscrew each black adjusting knob, reposition each rear adjustment arm to one of its six position holes (note: the handle is attached to and moves with the adjusting arm) and retighten the black adjusting knob. The mower is now ready to mow at the new height setting.
Owner’s Manual — IDEAL Mow using the same procedure as for normal mowing (described above). MOWING: GENERAL INFORMATION THE 1/3 RULE This is the key to enjoyable mowing and a healthy lawn. 1. The lawn should be mowed regularly, at least once a week during the growing season.
Owner’s Manual — IDEAL The blades, if properly cared for, will mow for years before requiring sharpening. Sharpening can only be done by a professional using a cylinder grinder and proper techniques. STORAGE 1. Store the mower in a cool, dry place.
Owner’s Manual — IDEAL 2. You may check the adjustment using the small 0.05mm/0.002 inch gauge (silver strip) supplied with the mower (or any 0.05mm/0.002 inch feeler gauge). If the gauge is touched by the cylinder blades but the cylinder and cutting bar are not touching then the adjustment is correct.
