Since the battery capacity of the Battery-Backed Power Supply is
approximately one fourth that of a standard Isco battery, you can
expect the equipment to run approximately one fourth as long.
For example, a flow meter that will run for eight days on a
standard battery will only run for two days if power fails and is
not restored.
If you use the Battery-Backed Power Supply outdoors, we rec-
ommend connection to a GFCI-protected outlet for safety, partic-
ularly if the environment is frequently wet.
There are no user-serviceable parts inside the case. The circuitry
for the regulator and battery charger are encapsulated in a ther-
mosetting potting compound. As a result, the electronics cannot
be repaired if the unit is damaged. If the battery fails to charge
up, return the unit to Isco for evaluation. Again, do not short
the output of the Battery-Backed Power Supply.
