1-11. Adjusting the stitch width / cutting
width
The distance between the needle and the outer
edge of the fabric is called stitch width/cutting
width.
• The cutting width can be set between 5-7 mm
depending on the type of fabric.
• Normal stitch width/cutting width is 5.5 mm,
which corresponds to "N" on the dial.
• Turn dial a to set the cutting width.
Note: There is an index mark on the machine.
1. Turn dial a to set the cutting width.
2. If thread loops are formed off the edge of the
fabric, turn the dial to a higher number to cut
less fabric away.
3. If the fabric puckers within the overlock seam,
turn the dial to a lower number to cut more
fabric away.
When you experience loops off the edge of the
fabric, slide the stitch nger toward you for ne
tune width adjustment.
To adjust, move the stitch nger lever toward
you from "N" position to the mark —. There are
two ne tune settings.
After adjusting, test your stitch.

1-12. Stitch length

Normal stitch length is 2.5 mm, which
cor re sponds to "N" on the stitch length dial.
You may change the stitch length between 0.8
(rolled edge) and 5 mm.
