To solve this problem, cancel the printing process and try again.     2 Introduction to USB The ColorShot printer is a USB (universal serial bus) device, and can be used only with computers that support USB peripherals. If you are not familiar with USB devices, you should review the information in this chapter.

    Printing a test image with PEGTEST Purpose of Printing the test image provided on the ColorShot CD is a quick way to PEGTEST determine whether image quality problems are caused by (a) the printer, software or film, or (b) by the image processing application settings or the characteristics of the image being printed.

    Clearing ColorShot from the Windows registry Some of the problems listed in the troubleshooting tables earlier in this chapter may require ColorShot entries in the Windows registry to be cleared with the procedure below. Warning: Use this procedure only when absolutely necessary. Failing to follow these instructions exactly may corrupt the registry and require reinstallation of Windows 95.

    Correcting conflicts with Microsoft Fax On systems with the ColorShot printer and Microsoft Fax as the only installed printers, the message "Internal ColorShot Software Error" may appear if printing is attempted while Microsoft Fax is selected as the default printer. (This problem does not seem to occur if the system has at least one other printer, in addition to the ColorShot printer and Microsoft Fax.)
