Real-feel keyboard
The HP505 and HP507 are equipped with Roland's flagship PHAIII (Progressive Hammer
Action III) Ivory Feel keyboard with Escapement. The HP503 contains an Ivory Feel-S keyboard
with Escapement. With fast key-repetition and sensitivity, these keyboards faithfully translate
into sound the subtle differences in tones from different playing styles and force at which
they are played. The keys are finished with material that provides
moisture-absorbing properties, resulting in a keyboard with the
natural texture and tactile sensation of real ivory and ebony.
*The HP503 is equipped with an Ivory Feel-S keyboard featuring the same functions as
PHAIII keyboard with one-piece construction.
Personalized touch
On all Roland digital pianos, you can select your favorite touch sensitivity – from light to
standard and heavy. You can adjust the touch response of your keyboard depending on how
strong your fingers are or for particular practice objectives.
*The HP507 offers 100 types of the key response.

Progressive Damper Action Pedal
HP500-series pianos are equipped with Progressive Damper Action pedal, which offer light
resistance at the beginning of the stroke and more resistance the instant they begin to take
effect, just like real acoustic pianos. This makes it easy for the performer to know when the
pedal begins take effect, and also enables half-pedal techniques for subtle control of aftertones
and resonance.
Perfect Form
Beautiful cabinet design and finishes compliment any décor
Not only do the HP500 pianos sound great, they look stunning as well. The elegant form
incorporates the curves that are found in the styling of traditional upright pianos. The front legs
add both stability and style. Brass music holders*

movements. All models feature the "Classic" key lid position to conceal the control panel and
display when desired. Available finishes include the traditional satin black, a warm rosewood
wood grain, and a mirror-like polished ebony*

Ease of use — the Roland advantage
The simple and intuitive control panel affords quick and easy
access to the HP500 Series' numerous features and functions;
the LCD provides a friendly visual interface. Frequently used
connection jacks or connectors, such as headphone jacks, or USB
memory connector are conveniently located near the front of all
models; a handy headphone hook is provided for convenient storage.
Environmentally conscious design
The HP500 series was designed not only with piano quality in mind, but the environment as well.
Its maximum power consumption is significantly reduced compared to the previous series (less
than 1/3 power draw by comparison), and yet the new models offer enhanced volume and sound
pressure! When used under normal conditions in a typical household, the instruments' power
consumption is around 34W, 11W, and 8W respectively*. The HP500 series also has an Auto Off
function that, when activated, can turn power off after a certain amount of specified non-activity.
* These figures were measured according to the method that is based on Roland's technical standard.
Expand Your Enjoyment
Digital conveniences
Since they are digital, HP pianos never need to be tuned, so you can enjoy perfect piano
sounds year round in any climate. You can adjust the volume to suit the room you are playing in,
and can also use headphones for private practice day or night. Another digital advantage is that
these pianos are lightweight, compact, and relatively easy to transport. They also come packed
with a range of functions that are useful for practicing, including
an onboard metronome and a Twin Piano function that lets you
split the keyboard into two zones so two players can play side
by side in the same register. The AB Repeat feature is also great
for your practice/training sessions, especially when using the
onboard lesson songs, as it lets you practice designated parts
repeatedly. The HP500 series offers eight types of tunings,
including equal temperament.
Built-in audio/MIDI recorder with flexible control
A recorder is built into all HP500-series pianos for capturing your performances as audio and/
or MIDI data — a very convenient feature for pianists as well as students who want to evaluate
their playing. Flexible controls such as Center Cancel, Transpose, and Tempo Change are
available for audio data (HP507/505/503). You can also connect an external digital music
player to the input jacks, play a song file, and the HP507 and 505 can transpose it in real time.
You can even minimize the melody of an audio song using Center Cancel function. Play along
and capture your performance as audio data. Recorded audio data can be saved onto USB
memory, and copied to an external computer for making audio CDs or for uploading to the
Internet.
* USB memory is required for audio recording.
* The HP503 captures your performance as well as play backed SMF data as audio data.
