MONITOR
Pressing and holding the MONITOR button for 1 second will let
you hear noise so you can adjust the volume level of the radio
when not receiving a signal. This should be used to check activity
on your current channel before transmitting. Press and release the
MONITOR button for 1 second to get out of MONITOR mode.
SCAN
Your NAUTICO3 can scan all channels for activity. To enter, quickly
press the SCAN button. Repeat the same procedure to exit. Your
radio will rapidly scan each of the channels and stop on any active
channel for 5 seconds before resuming scan. When you press the
PTT button to transmit on an active channel, the scanning function
will stop and remain on the active channel. To resume scanning,
quickly press the ▼/▲ button.
INSTANT CHANNEL 9/16
Channel 16 (Distress Channel) is used for calling other stations or
for distress alerting. You must monitor Channel 16 while standing by.
Channel 16 is only to be used in emergency situations. You can also
switch to Channel 9, the leisure-use call channel, without changing
your normal channel by pressing and holding the CH9/16 button for
1 second. Pressing the CH9/16 button again returns the radio to the
normal channel setting.
CALL ALERT
Your NAUTICO3 can transmit a call alert for a fixed length of time. To
send a call alert, press the PTT button twice within 1/2 second. The
TX icon will appear while transmitting a call alert and a tone can be
heard on the speaker for confirmation.
