Fabric Selection

Woven or Knit
The difference between woven and
knit fabric is the way the threads are
put together. Woven fabrics are made
of two thread systems, warp lengthwise
and weft crosswise that intersect at right
angles. A knit fabric is made of one
thread system with interlaced stitches. A
knit fabric usually has stretch.
As a general rule, enter Woven for stable
fabrics that have no stretch and Stretch
for fabrics that have stretch.
