White Balance (Adjusting Hue)

Rotate the mode dial to j, k, l, m or M M d button M j, k, l, m or
M tab (A9) M White balance
Adjust white balance to suit the light source or weather conditions in order to
make the colors in images match what you see with your eyes.
• Use Auto (normal) under most conditions. Change the setting when you
want to adjust the hue of the image you are taking.

* Fine adjustments in seven steps are available. Apply positive (+) to increase blue
hue and negative (–) to increase red hue.

Notes About White Balance
• Lower the flash when white balance is set to any setting other than Auto
(normal), Auto (warm lighting) or Flash (A56).
• The setting may not be changed when using certain settings of other functions.
White balance is automatically adjusted to suit
lighting conditions.
When set to Auto (warm lighting), the images are
preserved with warm colors if they are shot under an
incandescent light source. When using the flash,
white balance is adjusted according to the flash
lighting condition.
Use when the desired result is not achieved with
Auto (normal), Auto (warm lighting),
Incandescent, etc. (E31).
White balance is adjusted for direct sunlight.

Use under incandescent lighting.
Use under most types of fluorescent lighting. Choose
one of 1 (cool-white fluorescent), 2 (day white
fluorescent) and 3 (daylight fluorescent).
Use when taking images under overcast skies.
Use with the flash.
Use to directly specify color temperature (E30).
