STRATA DK16 EXPANSION KEY SERVICE UNIT INTERIOR

Standard Telephone Interface Unit (PSTU): The
PSTU has eight standard telephone circuits which
can interface with the same devices as the optional
KSTU in the Base Key Service Unit. A K4RCU
installed in the Base Key Service Unit interprets
DTMF tones transmitted by devices connected to
the PSTU.
Standard Telephone Interface Unit (RSTU): The
RSTU has eight circuits that can support single-line
devices. Besides rotary and push-button standard
telephones, the RSTU can support fax machines,
dictation equipment, modems, a separate Back-
ground Music Source, off-premises stations, Toshi-
ba VP (Voice Processing) systems, digital
announcement devices for the optional Built-in
Auto Attendant feature, and customer-supplied

voice mail devices. A K4RCU installed in the Base
Key Service Unit interprets DTMF tones transmit-
ted by devices connected to the RSTU.
R48S: The optional R48S unit can be connected to
the RSTU to extend the loop length (resistance
level) of standard telephone circuits from 600 ohms
to 1200 ohms. This allows standard telephones to
be connected at further distances from the DK16
system.
Electronic Telephone Interface Unit (PEKU): The
PEKU provides eight electronic telephone circuits
that can interface with electronic telephones, an
Alternate Background Music (BGM) source, a
direct station selection console (HDSS), an exter-
